How long does it take to get the compensation?
Claims procedure is very complicated and takes a long time. Depends on accident you will need to wait for compensation from few till dozen of months. Many people doesn't realize how much work our solisitors have do to get compensation for their Client.
First of all solisitors need to collect all documents concern your claim. This documentation concern medical treatment, injured declaration, course of accident, police raport. If accident happens at work solisitors will need accident book, witnesses. Sometimes it takes a long time to collect all documents. The time to collect all documents depends on cooperation with the Client. Then injured should visit his doctor and check his health after accident. If you need rehabilitation we will try to arrange meeting with a specialist.
Next steps
Then we send charge letter to a person from the company representing side responsible for causing the accident. In road accidents this kind of letters go to insurance company, which will be paying compensation. Insurance company can accept demands of compensation for accident which caused their Client. In accidents at work employer (or his insurer) has 3 months to respond for charges. Even insurance company or employer accepts charges it doesn't mean that our work is finished.
In that moment we start negotiations about high of Yyur compensation. It depends on many factors – character of injuries, health after accident, losses of earnings, etc. Insurance company usualy offers small amount of compensation at the bigining of case. During negotiations we try to get for you as high compensation as possible. Negotiations can take quite a long time but usually it's finished with our success.
